[Avodah] The Tzibbur saying Acheinu together

Hello all,

I was told by a colleague that, prior to 1967, on Mondays and Thursdays
(when *Tachanun *was recited) the *Chazan *would recite both the four *Yehi
Ratzons* and *Acheinu*. It was only after the Six Day War that the custom
started of having the *Tzibbur *say *Acheinu *out loud, followed by the
*Chazan*.

Does anyone have any evidence to prove or disprove this thesis?

(It's also possible that having the *Tzibbur *recite *Acheinu *was a custom
in some communities and the custom spread as individuals became more mobile
and created new communities and small Jewish communities dwindled during
the period from the late 1960's - 1970's. In which case the change had
nothing to do with the Six Day War, even if it took place during an
overlapping period.)

*Kol tuv*,
Yonatan
